The Eileen Gray Bibendum Chair was named by Gray herself when she saw Michelin Tire company's iconic caricature. The Bibendum Chair joins the Adjustable Height Table as one of her most widely recognized designs. The Bibendum Chair has been attributed to the work Eileen Gray did in Paris for Suzanne Talbot's Rue de Lota project. The Eileen Gray Bibendum Chair is one of several designs that typify Gray's opulent take on the stark modernist aesthetic. Until her death, Eileen Gray was fairly unrecognized, but she is now regarded as one of the most influential 20th-century designers and architects.
The Bibendum is a large and comfortable lounge chair. Extreme attention has been paid to stitching and foam cutting to ensure the Bibendum chair is very clean in its appearance and will retain this beauty for years. The unique base has been finished with a high degree of precision and a triple chrome finish.
